Have you seen this on Facebook?
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. (I grew up saying this every morning in school--it's a shame we no longer do this for fear of offending someone). NOW, LET'S SEE HOW MANY AMERICANS WILL REPOST!
Yeah, I didn't repost it. I worked in an elementary school for a year while living in Kansas. Every morning the pledge came over the intercom. And no, I didn't say it. We all had to stand, just in case we were being watched (as we sometimes were), but I never said it. Because hypocrisy pisses me off.
First of all, it's not even the original pledge. If you want to get on your high horse about the damn pledge, lets at least go back to the ORIGINAL version. But that's a problem isn't it? **insert eye roll here**
And second, once I live in a country were we have LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL I will say the freaking pledge. But we don't. So I don't. I live in a country where people try to make laws to keep others down just because they are different. And that's really pathetic.
